Onion Dalli

Dutch Excellence: The 'Delli' Onion Hybrid from Wing Seed

Wing Seed has long established itself as a reliable source of high-performance genetics within the European vegetable market. The 'Delli' hybrid represents years of dedicated research by Dutch breeders, aimed at developing a versatile crop that delivers consistent yields in moderate climates. For growers, 'Delli' offers predictability, with a maturation cycle of 100–110 days that allows for precise harvest scheduling.

Agronomic Profile and Disease Resistance

A primary advantage of 'Delli' is its robust defense against common pathogens that frequently jeopardize profitability. The hybrid exhibits high resistance to critical threats, including:

• Downy mildew (Peronospora);
• Fusarium wilt;
• Various forms of rot.

This innate immunity helps farmers reduce their reliance on fungicide applications, directly lowering production costs. In the context of modern intensive agriculture, this makes 'Delli' a highly competitive option for commercial vegetable operations.

Yield and Market Potential

The spherical bulb shape, combined with its distinct skin color, ensures that 'Delli' maintains high appeal in the fresh market segment. With a verified yield potential of 50–70 tons per hectare, it stands out as a highly efficient choice. As a storage-grade bulb, 'Delli' possesses the durability required for logistics and long-term supply chain management. This operational flexibility allows producers to effectively balance volume requirements with the premium quality standards demanded by end consumers.
