NIGELLA VITOLDINA

NIGELLA VITOLDINA is a decorative herbaceous plant of the cabbage family, distinguished by its bright and diverse flowering: white, yellow, blue, or purple inflorescences. The plant height ranges from 15 to 60 cm, and the leaves are typically dissected along the edges. Due to its cold resistance and adaptability to a wide range of climatic conditions, VITOLDINA is excellent for landscape design: it can be used in flower beds, rockeries, dried bouquets, or as an element of compositions.

The variety is characterized by high yield and good adaptation to various soil types. Seeds retain their decorative qualities even after maturation, and with proper care, the plant grows quickly and flowers for 100 days from germination to the beginning of seed ripening. VITOLDINA is also valued for its rich chemical composition: the content of omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids reaches almost 44%, and the total oil percentage is about 32%. This makes the plant attractive for both culinary use and essential oil production.

For successful cultivation, loose, well-lit soil is required, moderate watering, and protection from over-wetting. The plant does not tolerate strong weeds, so it is recommended to loosen the soil periodically. Pests, such as powdery mildew and spider mites, can be controlled using fungicides and chemical preparations. Nigella seeds can be stored for up to three years in a dark, dry place, allowing for advance planting planning.
