ARFA

Arfa crambe is a high-oil crop grown in various climatic zones due to its resistance to lodging and shattering. The plant height is 60–85 cm, and the vegetation period is 89 days. Seed yield ranges from 1.45 to 2.85 t/ha, with oil content reaching 45.2% of dry matter, which is approximately three times higher than rapeseed. Oil from crambe seeds can be used as a food product and for technical purposes, including biodiesel production.

Crambe seeds are rich in erucic acid (up to 60% of the total composition), ensuring high thermal stability and oil resistance to oxidation. After extraction, the oilcake contains up to 40% protein, as well as a small amount of vitamin C, making it a valuable feed material for fattening young animals. Additionally, phyto sterols, carotenes, and tocopherols are found in the seeds, which give the oil antioxidant properties.

Arfa crambe also attracts attention as a raw material for pharmaceutical and cosmetic production. The oil has good biodegradability and can serve as a natural substitute for synthetic oils in skin, hair, and body care products. Due to its high omega-9 fatty acid content and ability to quickly penetrate the epidermis, it provides deep moisturizing and protects the skin from dehydration. In the cosmetic industry, crambe is used as a component of lotions, creams, and shampoos, where its properties increase hydration efficiency by 20% compared to similar products without added oil.
