Crambe SANMO

Industrial Potential of the Sanmo Variety

Crambe abyssinica, specifically the Sanmo variety developed by Ooo Npk Krambis, is a specialized oilseed crop essential for the industrial sector. Its primary value lies in its high erucic acid content, which serves as a vital feedstock for the chemical industry. Unlike traditional oilseeds, Sanmo is specifically cultivated to supply raw materials for lubricants, chemical additives, and high-performance polymers.

Operational Use and Field Cultivation

The Sanmo variety, bred by the team at Npk Krambis (including T. Y. Prakhova and I. A. Galyakhmetova), is designed for production efficiency. Farmers incorporate this crop into their rotation to meet specific industrial requirements:

• Strategic Crop Rotation: The short vegetative period of crambe allows for efficient land use, enabling planting before winter crops or following early-harvest precursors.
• Industrial Supply Chains: The crop is often grown under contract for the petrochemical and coatings industries, where consistent chemical profiles are non-negotiable.
• Climate Resilience: Sanmo demonstrates significant plasticity, helping mitigate risks when cultivated in moderately continental climate zones.

For agricultural operations, success with Sanmo depends on precise soil nutrient management, particularly nitrogen-phosphorus fertilization, and rigorous early-stage weed control. Producers working with Ooo Npk Krambis genetics report high predictability in yield quality, which is essential for meeting the strict technical specifications required by industrial processors and end-market buyers.
