DescriptionDIVA
Nigella 'Diva' is an annual plant growing 45–52 cm tall with a branched stem and pinnately lobed green leaves without wooliness. The flowers are simple, star-shaped, and light blue, blooming in June–July and continuing to flower for over a month. The period from the start of vegetation to flowering is 40–45 days, while the flowering duration is 35–40 days.
Black cumin seeds have a sharp pepper-like taste and a spicy musky scent. They are widely used as a spice for meat and fish dishes, salads, pickling cucumbers, and fermenting cabbage, replacing black pepper without irritating the stomach lining. Before use, it is recommended to crush the seeds and slightly fry them in vegetable oil.
Nigella 'Diva' is valued not only as an aromatic spice but also as a useful medicinal plant: it has anti-helminthic properties, strengthens the body, and aids in treating skin diseases. Moreover, it is an excellent source of nectar, as well as a decorative culture for flowerbeds, borders, and flower plots thanks to its bright blue flowers and resistance to cold and drought.
