Canton F1 carrot is a mid-season hybrid of the Chantenay variety, developed by Bejo Zaden from the Netherlands. The maturity period ranges from 100 to 117 days after planting, allowing for harvest within relatively short timeframes. The plants feature a strong, upright leafy rosette, contributing to their stress resistance and adaptability to various regions and soil types, even under standard agronomic practices. The hybrid exhibits high immunity to diseases such as Alternaria and cercospora, as well as resistance to cracking and splitting of roots, significantly enhancing the quality and storage potential of the harvest.

The roots of Canton carrots have a bright orange color and conical shape, are short, well-formed, weighing 100 to 200 grams and measuring approximately 12-15 cm in length. The core is small, making the roots very juicy and sweet. The dry matter content in the carrots reaches 11.2%, and the BRIX level is 8.8%, indicating high sugar content and excellent taste qualities. This carrot is suitable for both fresh consumption and for storage, thermal processing, canning, and freezing.

The Canton F1 hybrid is characterized by high yield and good transportability, making it popular for fresh markets and industrial cultivation. It is suitable for mechanical harvesting, simplifying the harvesting process. The recommended planting rate is 0.7 to 1.2 million plants per hectare.
