Kuroda Chantenay

The Kuroda Chantenay carrot variety is an early and low-maintenance type prized for its high productivity and stable yield. This variety thrives in all climatic zones of Ukraine and is drought-tolerant, as well as resistant to diseases such as false powdery mildew and bacterial spot. The maturation period varies from 85 to 120 days depending on growing conditions, allowing it to be used for both early and later harvests. The carrots of the Kuroda Chantenay variety have a conical shape with a blunt tip and smooth skin. The length of the roots ranges from 12 to 20 cm, and the diameter is 3.5-5 cm. The carrots are characterized by a rich dark-orange color, dense and juicy flesh with high carotene content, making them particularly nutritious and flavorful. The fruits are firm, long-lasting, and suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. Thanks to their dense structure and excellent storability, the carrots can be stored for up to 9 months, maintaining turgor and an attractive appearance. For successful cultivation, it is recommended to plant carrots in light, nutrient-rich, sun-warmed soils with low acidity. Regular watering, timely fertilization, and thinning of seedlings are essential for forming large, uniform roots. Strong dark-green foliage with vertical growth indicates healthy plants and their resistance to adverse factors. The yield of this variety, under proper care, reaches 5-6.5 kg per square meter or approximately 65 tons per hectare, making Kuroda Chantenay an excellent choice for both farmers and gardeners.
