Hiberna MS Onion is a winter variety suitable for cultivation in both open and protected ground. A key feature of this variety is the possibility of sowing seeds in late autumn (July-August), which allows for an early harvest by the following July. The bulbs are round, large, weighing between 125 and 155 grams. The appearance is characterized by yellow dry scales and white juicy flesh, with a semi-spicy taste. The number of dry scales is 2-3, which ensures good marketability and storability. For successful cultivation of Hiberna MS, choose fertile, weed-free soil with a neutral reaction (pH 6-7). It is important that the site is well-lit throughout the day and not shaded, even by weeds. Regular watering must also be possible, especially under autumn sowing conditions. Sowing depth is 2.5-3 cm, and when growing from sets, the period from planting to mass yellowing and lodging of leaves takes 65-70 days. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and good ripening: before harvest, it reaches 89-100%, and after after-ripening—94-100%. The yield of Hiberna MS onion is from 5 to 8 kg per square meter. Thanks to its characteristics, this variety is widely used for fresh consumption and home cooking, providing a stable and quality harvest with good storability.
