NORTHERN is a high-yielding early-maturing variety of oil flax intended for the production of high-quality technical oil. The vegetative period is 93-95 days, allowing for harvest in a short time. The mass of 1000 seeds varies from 8.8 to 9 grams, and the oil content of the seeds reaches 46.4-49%, ensuring high oil production efficiency. The potential yield of the variety is 24-26 centners per hectare.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to fusarium wilt, as well as resistance to shattering and lodging, which significantly reduces crop losses and improves product quality. Plants are uniform in height, flowering, and maturity, which facilitates mechanized cultivation and promotes uniform harvest collection. Plant height reaches about 70 cm, and the straw is suitable for obtaining short fiber, which expands the possibilities for using the crop.
NORTHERN is adapted to cultivation in various regions, including the Volga-Vyatsk, North Caucasian, Middle Volga, Lower Volga, Urals, West Siberian, and East Siberian. The variety responds well to fertilizers and quality soil processing, which allows increasing yield with the correct agrotechnical approach. The variety's pedigree includes hybrid lines obtained by individual selection, confirming its breeding quality and stability.
