Flax Magical

Genetic Profile and Morphology

The oil flax variety 'Charovnyi', developed by the Institute of Bast Crops of the NAAS of Ukraine, is designed as a specialized tool for intensive agriculture. The key advantage of this germplasm lies in its selection profile: the focus was placed on balancing high oil content with stability of the biochemical composition of seeds under variable humidity conditions. The seeds feature a characteristic brown color, indicating an optimal concentration of protective polyphenolic compounds that shield the embryo from adverse soil factors during germination.

Agronomic Advantages

• High adaptability index to Ukraine’s diverse agro-climatic conditions, minimizing risks during the critical 'fir-tree' growth stage.
• Lodging resistance achieved through optimized stem architecture, which is a crucial factor for efficient direct harvesting and yield loss reduction.
• Synchronized maturation of seed bolls, which allows for a tighter harvest window, reduces post-harvest drying costs, and optimizes energy efficiency.

Practical application shows that 'Charovnyi' performs effectively both in monoculture and in crop rotations requiring short cycles. The variety demonstrates a predictable response to micronutrient applications, providing agronomists with the ability to precision-tune technology maps based on soil fertility and specific field requirements.
