Flax LSL 1133

Working with LSL 1133 flax

French breeding from Laboulet Semences consistently prioritizes stability, and LSL 1133 is no exception. The plant height sits comfortably in the 50–60 cm range. This height allows harvesting equipment to operate without excessive stress on the header, while the risk of lodging remains minimal even during heavy rainfall in the ripening phase.

Operational highlights

The main focus when managing this variety should be on its uniform ripening. The brown seeds of LSL 1133 have excellent test weight, simplifying initial processing at the grain elevator. During threshing, the flax is manageable; the stalks are not overly coarse, which allows for optimizing drum speed and reducing grain breakage rates.

• Efficiency: Crop uniformity simplifies combine settings.
• Resilience: The moderate stalk height is optimal for high-quality cutting.
• Economy: Low harvest losses due to well-balanced plant morphology.

Crop maintenance for this hybrid requires a standard protection program, but because of the uniform height, chemical applications are more effective—droplets are distributed evenly across the field without shaded zones. This is a case where the genetics from original breeder Patrice Laboulet effectively works to lower the farmer's operational costs.
