Flax GALAAD

French Breeding for High Yields

Galaad flax from the French breeding company Laboulet Semences is a benchmark of stability for farms specializing in high-quality oil and fiber production. This variety, developed by Veronique Tramcourt’s team, has firmly established itself in the European crop rotation thanks to its high adaptability and strong immunity against the most dangerous pathogens threatening the crop.

Agronomic Potential and Characteristics

The key feature of Galaad is its balance: with a moderate maturation period of 85–100 days, the plant demonstrates excellent fiber output, ranging from 20% to 28%. This makes it a versatile solution for farmers who do not want to choose between seed yield and stalk quality.

• Potential Yield: 2.5–3.5 t/ha, making the variety highly competitive in the market.
• Phytosanitary Resistance: The Laboulet Semences team has paid special attention to protection against fungal diseases. The variety effectively resists fusarium, anthracnose, verticillium wilt, and flax rust, which significantly reduces the pesticide load during the growing season.

Why Choose Galaad?

Choosing Galaad is an investment in a predictable outcome. French breeders from Laboulet Semences have created a variety capable of adapting to various soil types while maintaining the stated fiber quality and oil content metrics. The versatility of this flax allows farmers to maneuver depending on market conditions, obtaining high-quality raw materials for both the textile industry and oil processing.
