Agrotechnological Profile of LS Rivera Flax

The 2025 French breeding program introduces a new standard in flax production. LS Rivera is a complex hybrid developed via the SZ method, requiring precise adherence to the technological map to unlock its full yield potential.

Sowing and Soil Requirements

To ensure uniform emergence, the soil must warm up to +8...+10°C at the seeding depth. The optimal depth is 2–3 cm. LS Rivera is sensitive to soil compaction; on heavy loams, it is essential to maintain a fine-crumb structure to prevent seedling suffocation. The recommended plant density is 500–600 plants per square meter, achieved with a row spacing of 12.5–15 cm.

Crop Management by Growth Stages

• Emergence to 'Christmas Tree' stage: This is the critical window for weed control. The flax is most vulnerable during the 'Christmas tree' phase, so herbicide application must be completed before row closure.
• Budding to Flowering: During this phase, the hybrid has peak moisture requirements. Drought stress during flowering significantly reduces the number of capsules.
• Maturation: Thanks to its complex hybrid genetics, LS Rivera exhibits uniform ripening, which simplifies combine settings and minimizes losses during direct harvesting.

Nitrogen fertilizers should be applied in split doses: the primary portion during pre-sowing cultivation, and the remainder at the beginning of stem elongation. Excessive nitrogen in the early stages promotes lodging, so balancing with potassium fertilization is crucial to strengthen the stem.
