Lily Flamingo

Commercial Viability and Floral Performance

The 'Flamingo' lily, developed by the I.V. Michurin Federal Scientific Center, is specifically engineered for professional cut flower production. From an operator's perspective, this variety stands out due to its predictable growth cycles and robust structural integrity, making it a reliable asset for commercial greenhouses.

Operational Insights

• Handling and Vase Life: The stem strength is a standout feature, allowing for efficient harvesting and automated sorting without significant damage. When handled according to standard post-harvest protocols, the vase life remains highly competitive, minimizing losses during transit.
• Fragrance Management: This variety is noted for its powerful, distinct aroma. For greenhouse operations, this necessitates excellent ventilation planning to maintain a healthy work environment during the peak harvest season.
• Maintenance and Resilience: 'Flamingo' exhibits good resistance to common fungal pathogens, which significantly reduces the intensity of chemical interventions required. It responds well to standard NPK nutrient programs, and its maintenance requirements are straightforward, provided that soil drainage is strictly monitored.

For growers focusing on quality output, 'Flamingo' represents a stable choice. It combines the rigorous standards of Russian breeding with the practical demands of modern floriculture, ensuring that each harvest meets the criteria for professional-grade floral arrangements.
