Lettuce YADKHO

Buttery lettuce excellence

The «Yadho» lettuce variety is a product of Russian selection, developed by the Gavrish company and the All-Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production (VNIISSOK). This butterhead-type lettuce stands out from common loose-leaf varieties due to its dense, delicate leaves and buttery texture that culinary experts prize for the complete absence of bitterness.

Key agronomic traits

• Type: Butterhead lettuce.
• Maturity: Mid-season, allowing for reliable and predictable harvest cycles.
• Appearance: Vibrant green leaves with a smooth, soft texture.
• Head size: Average mass, which is highly preferred for commercial retail packaging and local market sales.

Why choose «Yadho»?

For growers focusing on consistency, «Yadho» is a strategic choice. Its primary strength lies in its adaptation to domestic climate conditions, making it more resilient than many imported hybrids that require strict, expensive microclimate controls. However, it is important to note that the variety requires consistent moisture management; excessive watering during the head-forming stage can compromise the density of the core. Regular, moderate irrigation is the key to achieving the perfect harvest. This variety is ideal for those seeking a reliable, high-quality, locally adapted product that balances taste, texture, and ease of cultivation without the unpredictability associated with complex hybrids.
