Lettuce Rabello

Consistent Yields with Less Hassle: Growing the "Rabello" Lettuce

When working with Romaine-type lettuce, the biggest headache is managing disease pressure, which can ruin a crop just days before harvest. With Rijk Zwaan’s "Rabello," that anxiety is significantly reduced. Choosing this hybrid is an investment in predictable results, which is essential for any professional operation.

Agronomy and Crop Protection

The Dutch breeding behind this variety really shines through in its genetic resistance. Resistance to downy mildew (peronospora) and Fusarium wilt isn't just marketing copy—it is a tangible reduction in fungicide costs and crop stress. In the field, Rabello holds its own even under high-humidity conditions. It effectively resists brown spots and powdery mildew, making it a reliable choice for intensive production cycles.

Field Performance

Rabello forms a neat, deep-green rosette that handles transport exceptionally well. The head is dense, the leaf structure is crisp, and the overall marketability is top-tier.
