Lettuce LAKUZANA

Italian Standard of Tenderness

The 'Lacuzana' lettuce from La Societa Delle Scienze Umane S.R.L. is a choice for those who value product texture over purely decorative properties. Unlike crispy or iceberg types, 'Lacuzana' belongs to the butterhead category, which defines its culinary niche: an ideal balance of softness and rich flavor without bitterness.

Agrotechnical Profile

The variety shows stable performance with a medium maturation period. The formed rosette has a pleasant light-green shade, making the produce visually appealing for retail. The average head mass allows for high-precision yield planning—this variety avoids the extreme weight variations often found in high-maintenance 'premium' hybrids.

Strengths and Considerations

• Advantages: Italian breeding (La Semiorto Sementi) guarantees high germination standards. The buttery texture of the leaves makes it a favorite for salad mixes and classic Mediterranean appetizers.
• Nuances: Like any butterhead lettuce, it requires careful attention to the irrigation schedule during the rosette formation phase to prevent soil dehydration.

'Lacuzana' is optimally suited for professional vegetable growers serving the fresh market and private farms focused on product quality rather than high-speed 'conveyor' production.
