Svitana

Potato variety Svіtana has a medium growing period of 95 to 105 days, making it a mid-late variety. Tubers have a round shape with smooth, thin, light-colored skin and light-yellow flesh. The average tuber weight ranges from 90 to 120 grams, making it convenient for making mashed potatoes due to its good mashability and starch content of 15–19%. This variety is suitable for cultivation on various soil types and does not require special agronomic practices. Svіtana is characterized by high yield, reaching approximately 500 kg per hundred square meters, and good storage capacity—up to 95%. The number of tubers per plant varies from 8 to 12, ensuring a stable and abundant harvest. The variety shows good resistance to diseases such as late blight, powdery mildew, phytophthora, and rhizoctonia, reducing the need for intensive plant protection and increasing cultivation reliability. Potato Svіtana was officially registered in Ukraine in 2023 by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences (NAAN), confirming its adaptation to local climatic conditions and agricultural requirements. Due to its qualities and characteristics, this variety is an excellent choice for farmers and gardeners seeking a high-quality, tasty potato harvest with good storage properties and disease resistance.
