Description Cherie
Cherie potato is an early-maturing table variety developed by French breeders in 2007. The vegetation period lasts 70–75 days, with the first harvest possible as early as day 45 after emergence. The plant is of medium height with semi-erect green leaves and slightly wavy edges. Flower color ranges from red-purple to medium size. This variety is characterized by high yield, ranging from 167 to 371 centners per hectare at the end of the vegetation period, with the maximum recorded yield reaching 443 centners per hectare. Yield is also high in early stages: on day 45 — 134 to 173 centners per hectare, on day 55 — 175 to 338 centners per hectare.

Cherie potato tubers have elongated shape, smooth red skin with small eyes, and weigh from 98 to 164 grams. The flesh is light-cream colored, dense, and rich in starch — from 10.6% to 22% — which ensures excellent taste. The potatoes do not break down or change color during cooking, making them ideal for soups and salads. Tubers have high marketability — from 85% to 98%, and due to their dense skin, the variety has good storage capacity, reaching 91%, although tubers may be susceptible to mechanical damage.

Cherie variety is resistant to such diseases as potato blight and golden nematode. It adapts well to various soil types and tolerates hot and dry weather, making it a versatile and reliable choice for cultivation under different climatic conditions. Thanks to its combination of high yield, excellent taste, and resistance to adverse factors, Cherie potato enjoys deserved popularity among farmers and chefs.
