Description NIKULINSKY
Nikulinский potato is a medium-late, table-type variety developed in Russia in the early 1990s. It is characterized by stable and high yields, reaching 170 to 294 centners per hectare, with maximum yields up to 410 centners. The tubers are round, with light beige or yellowish skin featuring a netted structure and white flesh that does not darken upon cutting or boiling. The weight of one marketable tuber ranges from 70 to 135 grams, and each plant produces 8–12 tubers. The starch content varies between 12.5–21.3%, ensuring good mashability and suitability for making mashed potatoes and processing into starch.

This variety is distinguished by excellent taste qualities and high tuber storability, reaching 95%, which allows the product to maintain its market appearance and quality for a long time. Nikulinский potato is suitable for cultivation on various soil types and in different climatic zones, including the Northern, North-Western, Central, Volga-Vyatka, Middle Volga, Ural, and West Siberian regions. Due to its versatility, it is widely used both in home gardens and in industrial processing.

In terms of disease resistance, the variety is resistant to potato cancer and viral diseases, but has moderate susceptibility to late blight of stems and tubers. Tubers may be affected by common scab and black leg, requiring chemical protective measures to maintain plant health. Additionally, the variety is relatively resistant to Colorado potato beetle, simplifying care and reducing yield losses. Overall, Nikulinский is a reliable and tasty potato variety with good agronomic traits and broad application.
