BLAKEYT

The potato variety Blakeyt is a medium-late table variety with oval-round, yellow-colored tubers and flesh of the same shade. The plant is of medium height, intermediate type, semi-erect, with leaves ranging from medium to large size and blue-purple flower buds. The weight of marketable tubers varies from 88 to 147 grams, and starch content ranges from 12.1 to 16.4%. The number of tubers per plant reaches 6-11, contributing to high market yield.

The yield of the Blakeyt variety ranges from 265 to 385 centners per hectare, with maximum values reaching 486 centners per hectare, significantly exceeding the standard yields of the Nikulinский variety. The tuber marketability is in the range of 84-94%, and storability reaches 92%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. The taste of the potato is rated as good to excellent, with moderate cooking properties, making it versatile for various culinary purposes, including chip and dry mash production.

The variety shows resistance to potato cancer pathogen, black leg, and viral diseases, as well as moderate resistance to leaf and tuber late blight. However, it is susceptible to golden potato cyst nematode. Blakeyt potato is adapted to various soils and climatic conditions, making it suitable for cultivation in a wide range of regions.
