Description Almera
Almera potato is a medium-early, high-yielding table variety with a maturation period of 65 to 80 days. The plant is of medium height, with upright or semi-upright growth, medium to large leaves with open green coloration and weak to moderate leaf margins. The flower is red-purple. Tubers are oval-shaped with small eyes, smooth or moderately smooth yellow skin, and light-yellow flesh. Marketable tuber weight ranges from 106 to 142 grams, and starch content is 9.8-10.4%, corresponding to culinary type A, making this variety suitable for salads, soups, and French fries.

The yield of Almera variety is at the level of the Nevsky standard, ranging from 157 to 409 centners per hectare, with maximum yields reaching 530 centners per hectare, confirmed by data from the Moscow region. Tubers have high marketability — 81 to 92%, and storability reaches 97%, ensuring good product preservation during storage. The number of tubers per plant ranges from 6 to 11, contributing to stable and abundant yields.

The variety exhibits high resistance to several diseases and pests, including potato cancer pathogen, golden potato cyst nematode, and viruses causing rugose and striped mosaic and leaf curl. Due to these qualities and good adaptability, the variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central region of Russia. The breeder of this variety is the Dutch company AGRICO U.A.
