Saratoga F1 is a late-maturing hybrid of white cabbage, intended for long-term storage up to 8 months. The heads are round, weighing from 3 to 4 kg, with a dense structure and light green hue, featuring a strong waxy coating on the leaves. The vegetative period is approximately 147 days, allowing this hybrid to be grown under various agroclimatic conditions, including arid regions, thanks to its robust root system that ensures resistance to water deficiency.
The hybrid is characterized by high yield and adaptability, suitable for cultivation both via seedlings and direct sowing into open ground, as well as under cover. The recommended planting density is 30-40 thousand plants per hectare. The heads have an attractive market appearance, smooth surface, and white inner flesh, making them highly marketable. Leaves are broad-oval in shape, medium to large in size, with anthocyanin and strong waxy coating, providing additional resistance.
Saratoga F1 boasts excellent taste qualities, high dry matter content (10.4%) and total sugar content (6.2%), making it ideal for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling and salting. The hybrid is resistant to Fusarium and tolerant to vascular bacteriosis, enhancing its reliability during cultivation. Due to its good transportability and long storage life, the cabbage retains its market appearance and taste qualities throughout the entire storage period.
