Flamenco F1 Cauliflower: The Dutch Standard for Growers

In the landscape of modern vegetable farming, the Flamenco F1 hybrid from the Dutch breeder Bejo has established itself as a go-to solution for summer and autumn production. This variety embodies the precision of Dutch plant breeding, balancing visual appeal with robust performance in the field.

Agronomic Profile and Performance

Flamenco F1 is a mid-season hybrid with a maturity window of 70 to 80 days after transplanting. Its primary strength lies in its powerful leaf structure, which acts as a protective shield for the developing curd. This natural self-covering capability is vital under intense sunlight, ensuring the heads remain perfectly white and free from yellowing without the need for manual tying.

• Curd Quality and Weight: The heads are compact and dense, typically weighing between 1.0 and 1.5 kg. This size range is highly preferred by both supermarket chains for fresh sales and processing facilities for freezing or culinary use.
• Resilience: The hybrid shows excellent adaptability to fluctuating temperatures during the growing season, a crucial trait for areas where autumn weather can be unpredictable.
• Market Versatility: Because of the high density of the florets, Flamenco F1 survives transportation well, maintaining its premium quality from the field to the consumer's plate.

The Bejo Edge

Choosing a Bejo hybrid is a strategic move for professional growers looking to mitigate risk. Flamenco F1 is the result of years of genetic development focused on intensive agricultural systems. Its versatility is its greatest asset; whether the market demands fresh-cut vegetables or frozen products, this hybrid meets the requirements with consistent output.

For growers seeking top-tier results, Flamenco F1 responds best to a balanced nutrition program and consistent irrigation, particularly during the critical curd-formation phase. With its blend of durability, aesthetics, and handling quality, it remains a reliable choice for farmers aiming for consistent seasonal harvests.
