Wild cabbage Bilko F1

Stability and Protection: Working with Bilko F1

For an agronomist working with Chinese cabbage, the main challenge is always not just yield, but product preservation in the field and in the warehouse. The Bilko F1 hybrid from Bejo has become a standard of reliability for many. Evaluating it in real production conditions, its endurance stands out above all.

Field Resilience

The biggest headache in growing cruciferous vegetables is soil-borne infections. By working with Bilko F1, you get powerful insurance against clubroot and Fusarium wilt. These are not just marketing figures: on plots with high infection pressure, this hybrid shows excellent survival rates. The plant possesses strong immunity against bacteriosis and downy mildew, which significantly reduces fungicide costs and helps avoid quality loss due to spotting.

Technology and Storage

A growing period of 60–70 days makes this hybrid a flexible tool in crop rotation. The heads are barrel-shaped, dense, and feature a deep green color that is highly valued in the fresh market. With a weight of 1.0–1.5 kg, they fit perfectly into packaging and meet retail weight standards.

However, the true value of Bilko F1 is revealed post-harvest. Unlike many early varieties, this hybrid is designed for long-term storage. With proper temperature control, you can keep the product for up to 6 months. This allows you to avoid selling at rock-bottom prices immediately after harvest and wait for peak market value. The hybrid is also convenient for processing: the minimal waste during trimming significantly increases economic efficiency.

• Planting: Requires adherence to standard agrotechnical practices and responds well to regular fertilization.
• Care: High resistance to root rot forgives minor irrigation errors, though consistency remains key.
• Harvesting: The uniform shape of the head allows for fast cutting, and high homogeneity simplifies the sorting process.

Bottom line: if you need a predictable result, high marketability, and the ability to delay sales, Bilko F1 from Bejo is one of the most reliable choices on the market.
