Odyssey F1 cabbage represents a mid-early hybrid of white cabbage developed by breeders from Nong Woo Bio in South Korea. This hybrid is distinguished by its high yield and superior commercial qualities: round, medium-large heads weighing from 1.5 to 2.5 kg have a pleasant bluish-green color and tender leaf texture. The leaves are thin, of medium toughness, without thickening, making the cabbage ideal for fresh consumption, stuffed cabbage preparation, and processing. Harvest can be collected when the head reaches a mass of about 1 kg, and the maturation period is 75-80 days depending on planting dates.
The Odyssey F1 hybrid is highly adaptable to various climatic conditions, including drought, minor frosts, and waterlogging. The plant is resistant to stresses and diseases, particularly bacterial and fungal infections, ensuring a stable yield and reducing loss risks. The cabbage responds well to fertilizers and is suitable for conveyor planting in open ground, both by seedling method and under temporary covers. Thanks to its plasticity and stress resistance, the hybrid is successfully grown in agro-zones with unstable climates.
Odyssey F1 has good transportability and maintains its qualities during storage for up to 2-3 months, making it in demand for the fresh market and secondary processing. Heads are dense, uniform, and not prone to cracking, which facilitates harvest collection and transport. This hybrid is suitable for growing in multiple cycles per season, allowing for a stable and quality yield from June to October.
