Iris "Marriott" is a premium variety distinguished by its vibrant coloration and large buds. The plant's rhizome features a characteristic corrugated structure, while the foliage is covered in a golden hue with a light purple overlay, imparting special depth and brilliance to the color.
Successful cultivation of the "Marriott" iris does not require special soil: the plant grows on most soil types, though waterlogging should be avoided. Where shallow groundwater tables exist, raised beds are recommended. Seedlings are planted in a shallow hole where the rhizome is laid horizontally, spread out, covered with sand, and then with soil so that the upper part of the rhizome remains slightly above the soil level. After planting, thorough watering is necessary.
The optimal spacing between plants is at least half a meter, which provides sufficient space for root system development and prevents competition for nutrients. Watering is only required during the bud stage to prolong the flowering period. The recommended planting time is from April to late September, as well as planting in autumn before the onset of frost and in summer after flowering has concluded.
The "Marriott" iris reaches a height of about 70–71 cm and belongs to the tall bearded iris class. Its flowering season is characterized by an average duration, with large buds opening in vibrant shades, creating a striking visual accent in any garden composition.
