The 'Southern Beauty' persimmon tree is medium-sized, reaching a height of 3 to 3.5 meters. The crown has a semi-spherical shape, and the leaves are dark green and medium-sized; in autumn they turn bright yellow. The bark is dark gray, cellular, with shallow incisions, and the branches are smooth.
Fruits of this variety are oval-cylindrical, dense and hard, weighing 135–165 grams, with a height of 49–51 mm and a diameter of 65–70 mm. Appearance – yellow-orange with an intense waxy coating; upon full ripening, the color changes to red-orange. The flesh is light orange, juicy-paste-like, sweet with a slight astringency that disappears only in fruits tied to the tree. The fruit retains freshness for about a month and can be used both as a dessert and for industrial processing and drying.
The variety is characterized by high yield – 78–90 kg/tree, as well as resistance to diseases and frost. The vegetative period ranges from 215 to 270 days. Leaves are almost undamaged by spotting and reticulation, which makes cultivation more convenient. Due to the combination of attractive appearance, high taste, and reliability in various climatic conditions, 'Southern Beauty' is suitable for both personal consumption and commercial cultivation.
