Hippeastrum TENDER MAY

Robust genetics for predictable blooming

The ‘Laskoviy May’ Hippeastrum, developed by the Ufa Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, challenges the market dominance of imported bulbs. While many commercial varieties require sterile laboratory conditions to thrive, this hybrid is built for the reality of indoor and greenhouse environments, prioritizing plant health over fleeting aesthetic size.

Key Advantages

• Stagonospora Resistance: Red blotch (Stagonospora curtisii) is the bane of most Hippeastrum collections. This variety possesses a strong natural resistance to this pathogen, reducing the need for constant, aggressive fungicide treatment.
• Optimal Form Factor: Reaching a height of 40–50 cm, it is perfectly sized for residential settings. Unlike taller, top-heavy varieties, ‘Laskoviy May’ maintains a stable, upright posture, eliminating the need for awkward mechanical staking.
• Versatility: Whether you are a professional greenhouse grower or a home enthusiast, this variety offers reliable performance in both small-scale and intensive cultivation setups.

Who is this for? ‘Laskoviy May’ is the ideal choice for growers who value consistency. If you have struggled with the sensitivity and disease susceptibility of mass-market imports, this hybrid offers a more robust alternative. It is not designed as a "disposable" bulb for a single season, but as a long-term botanical investment that is forgiving of minor watering mistakes and thrives under standard indoor care.
