Post-emergence systemic herbicide for the eradication of perennial and annual grasses and some broadleaf weeds in corn crops.
Form of preparation and active ingredient:
Concentrate suspension, 40 g/l.
Chemical class:
Sulfonylureas.
Packaging:
Barrels of 10 liters.
Speed of action:
Sensitive weeds stop growing under favorable conditions within six hours after application. Complete weed death occurs within 20 days.
Mode of action:
The active ingredient is absorbed by the leaves and stems of weeds, rapidly moves to the root system, inhibits cell division by blocking the synthesis of essential amino acids. Weeds stop growing and no longer compete with the crop.
Properties and advantages:
Priority — essential component of intensive corn crop management;
Systemic, highly selective herbicide for combating persistent grass weeds in corn crops;
Penetrates weeds through both leaves and stems;
Easy to apply, does not require additional adjuvants or special active ingredients;
Saves costs, as it allows eliminating mechanical treatments;
Priority — can be applied over a wide range of corn growth stages — from 3 to 10 leaves;
Effective against weeds emerging from seeds or roots, e.g., goosegrass and docks;
Short half-life; after corn harvest, winter wheat and barley can be sown;
Rainfall within 4 hours after spraying does not reduce herbicide effectiveness;
For enhanced efficacy against broadleaf weeds, use in tank mixtures with Orion and Optimum (not to be mixed with 2,4-D).
Special features:
The protective period of the insurance herbicide without soil activity is a complex concept. The following factors influence the outcome: timing of application, stem elongation stage, presence of soil cover disruption after application, absence or rainfall. Each of these factors may trigger the emergence of "new waves" of weed seedlings. Therefore, when planning a system to protect corn from grass weeds using an insurance method, it is necessary to consider the chronology of emergence of this group of weeds.
Attention!
It is not recommended to apply Priority in tank mixtures with herbicides based on 2,4-D, due to the inhibition of the herbicide's action on grass weeds. To enhance efficacy against broadleaf weeds, Optimum can be used at 0.4-0.6 L/ha (up to 5th leaf stage), or Orion at 0.015-0.02 kg/ha (up to 7th leaf stage).
WHO classification, toxicological characteristics:
Class II (highly toxic).
Shelf life and storage conditions:
Three years in sealed factory packaging at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C.
