Kubansky guar variety is a highly productive leguminous crop, specifically adapted to the conditions of southern regions. The plant is erect, of medium height, with uniform branching and without leaf pubescence. The seeds have a grey‑olive coating, and contain 45% gum and 31% protein, making them valuable both as a feed and industrial resource.
Seed yield reaches 30.5 t/ha, and green mass – 300 t/ha. A high percentage of gum in the seeds allows using guar in the food industry, for producing gel mixtures and as a stabilizer in various products. Protein content makes the crop in demand in animal husbandry, increasing livestock productivity.
The Kubansky variety is characterized by good drought resistance (5 points on the scale) and moderate resistance to bacterial blight and fusarium. The plant requires warmth, light soil, and periodic precipitation, which makes it suitable for growing in southern climatic zones. Due to these properties, guar becomes an important element of grain-tillage crop rotations, providing both economic benefit and biological diversity of agro-systems.
