The Persey grape variety is a table grape with medium ripening time, developed by the Taиров Institute in Ukraine. The vegetation period lasts about 125-130 days, and harvest occurs at the end of August to the beginning of September. The vines have medium growth vigor and root well, forming a strong root system. The variety prefers light, well-heated soils and exhibits good frost resistance, tolerating temperatures down to -24 °C.
The Persey grape berries have an oval shape and a pink color. The average berry weight is about 5.5 grams, and the cluster weight varies from 600 to 1100 grams, ensuring high marketability at 85%. The taste of the berries is harmonious and rated 8.3 points by the tasting committee, indicating high quality and pleasant organoleptic properties of the variety.
The variety is characterized by good transportability and high yield, reaching up to 120 centners per hectare. For planting, it is recommended to use SO4 or 5BB rootstocks, with the optimal planting time being late March to early April. The Persey grape is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions in Ukraine, combining resistance to fungal diseases with excellent taste qualities.
