Krasa Leskovo Hydrangea

Hydrangea "Krasa Leskovo" is a panicle variety bred in Russia in 2021, gaining recognition for its decorative appeal and hardiness. The shrub reaches a height of 1.2 to 1.5 m and a width of up to 1.4 m, forming a dense, rounded crown with a diameter of approximately 1 m. Stems are covered with reddish-brown bark, while leaves are dark green, egg-shaped, with clearly visible venation, and grow oppositely.

Flowering begins in the first decade of July and continues until the end of September. Inflorescences are large, broadly conical, 25–30 cm in length, initially white with a lime tint, gradually transitioning to a pale pink color, and becoming rich pink by the end of the period. Upon opening, a characteristic "cotton-candy effect" is observed – the inflorescence coloring starts simultaneously from the top and bottom, creating smooth waves of color.

The variety adapts well to various soil conditions: it prefers fertile, acidic soil without traces of lime or alkaline compounds, but can grow in any typical regional soil provided there is sufficient moisture. It requires sunlight or partial shade and moderate drainage, especially in clay soil. Hardiness reaches -34 °C (USDA zone 4b), so the plant withstands harsh winters without additional covering.

"Krasa Leskovo" is ideal both as a solitary decorative plant on a lawn and in group plantings, hedges, or alpine gardens. Thanks to its bright color palette and prolonged flowering, it becomes an effective accent in compositions with coniferous and herbaceous plants, as well as in urban greening – parks, squares, courtyards, and school gardens.
