Bolero fodder beet is a variety of fodder beet (Beta vulgaris L. ssp. vulgaris var. alba DC.) intended for livestock use to obtain high levels of nutrients. This variety was registered and approved for cultivation in the Volgo-Vyatka region since 1994, the breeder is the company LLC "SESVANDERHAWE". Bolero is characterized by good adaptation to regional conditions and is suitable for cultivation on loamy-sandy soils with optimal agronomic parameters, such as planting depth of 20-22 cm, soil acidity (pH) around 6.0, as well as sufficient content of phosphorus and potassium (P2O5 and K2O not less than 150-200 mg/kg) and humus not less than 1.8%.
The yield of the Bolero variety is approximately 520 centners/ha for the main crop and 208 centners/ha for the secondary crop, indicating its high productivity. For successful cultivation, crop rotation with predecessors such as winter cereals (rye, wheat), corn, potatoes, annual grasses, and leguminous crops is recommended. This helps maintain soil fertility and reduces the risk of diseases.
The Bolero variety is distinguished by its stability and reliability in producing fodder for animals. It provides high-quality feed, positively affecting animal nutrition and productivity. Due to its agronomic requirements and adaptive properties, Bolero is an optimal choice for farmers seeking high and stable yields of fodder beet in the Volgo-Vyatka region.
