Currant PIQUE A LA DAME

Performance and Yield

The «Pikovaya Dama» currant is an excellent choice for commercial farming where predictable output is essential. Developed by the Michurin Federal Scientific Center, this variety excels in adaptability. Its main competitive advantage in a production cycle is the early ripening period. The vegetation cycle from bud break to harvest is just 40–45 days, allowing producers to hit the market ahead of others.

Logistics and Storage

A primary challenge in berry farming is maintaining quality during transit. «Pikovaya Dama» mitigates this with its firm skin and dense fruit structure. These traits ensure high transportability: when packaged correctly, losses during long-distance shipping are minimal. The berries remain firm and visually appealing on store shelves for several days without losing their integrity.

Best Practices for Maintenance

• Planting: This variety thrives in open, well-lit areas with fertile soil. Its high growth vigor allows for quick canopy formation.
• Care: Standard maintenance involves timely pruning and irrigation. The variety responds well to potassium fertilizers, which help strengthen the fruit's structural integrity.
• Harvesting: Due to the compact cluster arrangement, manual harvesting is highly efficient and labor-friendly.

This is a highly reliable, low-maintenance variety that serves as a consistent asset for any agricultural operation.
