Strawberry G14527

Italian breeding for greenhouse cultivation

The DJ14527 variety from Geoplant Vivai S.R.L. is a 2025 release designed for professional greenhouse production. Italian breeders have focused on achieving a balance between fruit aesthetics and production efficiency. Unlike many mid-season varieties, this hybrid demonstrates high adaptability to various agro-climatic zones, including Steppe, Forest-Steppe, and Polissya regions.

Appearance and market quality

The key feature of DJ14527 is its large, conical, dark red fruits with a pronounced glossy shine. The surface of the berry is remarkably smooth, which significantly simplifies harvesting and sorting. The achenes are level with the surface, and the calyx fits tightly to the fruit, ensuring excellent transportability and shelf appeal.

• Habit: A semi-erect plant with medium vigor, making maintenance and harvesting easier.
• Flowering: Inflorescences are positioned at the same level as the leaves, protecting them from mechanical damage and improving pollinator access.
• Flesh: Firm, red, with moderate hardness, making the variety versatile for both the fresh market and processing.

The plant produces a moderate number of runners, allowing growers to effectively manage planting density. The foliage is highly glossy with moderate blistering, indicating healthy, active photosynthesis. Because the calyx is positioned level with the fruit and sits horizontally, the berries maintain a neat, attractive appearance for the end consumer.
