Description Chereshneva
Chereshneva black currant variety is a Ukrainian selection medium-late maturing black currant, its berries begin to ripen in mid-July. The bushes of this variety are vigorous, with strong upward-growing shoots reaching a height of about 1.3 meters. The berries have a dark matte color, round shape, and are large: average weight varies from 1.2 to 2.2 grams, with a maximum of 4.5 grams. The flesh is brown, tart-sweet with a characteristic currant aroma, making them appealing both for fresh consumption and various processing methods.

The Chereshneva variety is characterized by high yield and simultaneous ripening of berries, which facilitates harvesting. The berries have a dense, elastic, and tough skin with dry detachment, reducing the tendency to drop and allowing the fruit to remain on the bush for a long time. The bushes exhibit high resistance to fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, anthracnose, and septoria, as well as viruses, significantly simplifying care and increasing cultivation reliability. The variety has high winter hardiness, though it shows low drought tolerance, so for successful cultivation, it is recommended to choose sunny areas with adequate moisture.

Chereshneva is suitable for planting in various conditions, with optimal conditions being sunny locations. The plant adapts well and begins fruiting already in the second year after planting. Due to its taste qualities, large and aromatic berries, as well as resistance to diseases and adverse conditions, this variety is universal and popular among gardeners seeking a stable and high-quality black currant harvest.
