Cucumber Victoria

Technical Profile of the 'Victoria' Hybrid

The 'Victoria' cucumber is a product of rigorous breeding by the Gavrish company and the Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding (VNIISSOK). It was engineered to deliver stable yields under fluctuating climatic conditions. The genetics of this hybrid are tuned for balance between plant plasticity and consistent fruit output.

Fruit Morphology

The core commercial value of 'Victoria' lies in its fine-tubercled, prickly skin texture. Technical specifications for fruit length range from 7 to 15 cm, positioning this hybrid as a versatile choice for both the fresh market and professional processing. The green color remains consistent throughout the harvest cycle, showing resilience against yellowing even during periods of rapid growth.

Adaptation and Cultivation Dynamics

The biological architecture of the hybrid is optimized for two distinct growing environments:

• Open Field: High stress tolerance allows the plant to adapt to diurnal temperature fluctuations while maintaining consistent fruit weight gain.
• Glass Greenhouses: The plant structure is optimized for vertical training systems, ensuring proper air circulation and light penetration into the fruiting nodes.

By selecting 'Victoria', growers gain access to a predictable output. The hybrid shows a strong response to management practices, which is essential for intensive cultivation systems where yield uniformity and fruit quality are the primary KPIs.
