Cucumber Nikita

Stable harvest under any conditions

The «Nikita» cucumber is the result of breeding work by E.R. Kudryavtseva and co-authors, created for those who value predictable results. The hybrid belongs to the vegetative type of plants, which determines its strong growth vigor and ability to recover quickly from stress. Unlike many compact varieties, «Nikita» requires proper plant training and pruning, which is compensated by the high marketability of the fruits.

Agricultural advantages

The key feature of this hybrid is its high resistance to diseases that often cause crop loss in both protected and open ground. The plant demonstrates excellent resistance to:

• cladosporiosis;
• powdery mildew;
• cucumber mosaic virus.

Versatility in cultivation makes it suitable for both glass greenhouses and open fields. The fruits range from 10 to 15 cm in length, which is the «gold standard» for pickling and fresh consumption. The dense, cavity-free flesh ensures an excellent commercial appearance during transportation.

Who is this variety for?

«Nikita» is an optimal choice for farmers who are not prepared to risk their harvest due to weather surprises or high pathogen pressure. Thanks to its vegetative growth habit, the variety is forgiving of minor agronomic mistakes, although it requires attention to trellising and pruning. It is not a «low-maintenance» variety, but a tool for professionals and experienced gardeners aiming for high-quality, stable yields of medium-sized cucumbers throughout the season.
