Matra F1 cucumber is a fast-maturing pickling hybrid, characterized by high versatility and suitable for cultivation in various types of soil, including plastic greenhouses and open ground in warm climatic conditions. The cucumbers have an oval shape with green striped coloring, crisp and juicy flesh without bitterness, making them ideal for canning as well as for fresh salads. The hybrid is female-flowering and features good branching, with its parthenocarpic properties enhanced under increased light. Matra F1 is distinguished by high cold resistance and shade tolerance, enabling cultivation across various climatic zones in Russia, including northern regions, the Urals, Siberia, and the Far East. The maturation period is 37-39 days after germination, with a market yield of 13 kg per square meter. The fruits have an average weight of 70-90 grams and length of 8-10 cm, making them convenient for commercial cultivation and marketing. The hybrid is resistant to major cucumber diseases such as cucumber mosaic virus, cladosporeiosis, and true powdery mildew. Thanks to its characteristics, Matra F1 allows for two harvests per year when grown in greenhouse conditions, which is especially valuable for industrial production.
