Ansgar

Ansgar F1 cucumber — an early parthenocarpic hybrid of cornichon type, developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. This hybrid is distinguished by its ultra-early maturity, which takes 31–35 days, allowing for harvest in a short time. It is an open-type plant, well-balanced with short internodes, forming a large number of fruits even under stressful conditions without dropping fruit set. Ansgar F1 can be successfully grown both in open ground and in greenhouses, demonstrating high adaptability to various soil-climatic conditions.

The fruits of the Ansgar cucumber are large, bumpy, 10–14 cm long and 2–3 cm in diameter, with a smooth cylindrical shape and compact seed cavity. Their flesh is tasty and protected by a thin, shiny green rind. The fruits do not overgrow, retain their firmness under hot weather and during prolonged storage, ensuring high commercial quality and excellent transportability. Due to these characteristics, the cucumbers are ideal for fresh markets, as well as for salads, vegetable slices, and other dishes.

The hybrid has high resistance to a wide range of diseases, including cucumber mosaic virus, significantly reducing the risk of crop losses. Ansgar F1 is distinguished by high yield potential and uniform fruiting, making it a profitable choice for commercial cultivation.
