Columbus

COLUMBUS — an early-maturing parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid of the cornichon type, suitable for cultivation in open and protected ground throughout the entire season, from early spring to late autumn. The vegetation period is 33–38 days, allowing for a quick harvest. The plant has a vegetative-generative growth type and forms a strong root system that ensures nutrition for a large number of fruits. Seeds are recommended to be sown in cups or trays for seedlings, and transplanting to the final location should be done at the beginning of flowering.

COLUMBUS fruits have a dark green color, cylindrical shape with a neatly rounded tip, and a medium-bumpy surface without hollows. When cut open, they are dense with small underdeveloped seeds, making the cucumbers very tasty and aromatic. The average yield of the hybrid exceeds 20 kg per square meter, indicating high productivity of the variety.

The hybrid is characterized by high adaptability to growing conditions and resistance to viral and fungal diseases, such as powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus.
