The BABAKLAVA cucumber variety is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid with a cluster of flower buds, which begins to bear fruit 40-45 days after germination. The fruits reach a length of 10-12 cm and have small bumps on the surface. The skin is thin, the flesh is juicy, sweet, and has a strong aroma, with no bitterness at all. These characteristics make this variety an excellent choice for fresh consumption, as well as for pickling and preparing lightly salted cucumbers.
The hybrid demonstrates good resistance to adverse conditions, including heat and drought, confirmed by successful cultivation under various climatic conditions. However, during testing, some issues with fruit set were observed: despite the claimed cluster formation, some flower buds turned yellow and dropped, affecting overall yield. In greenhouse conditions, yield can reach 12-15 kg per square meter, but in some cases, it was lower due to insufficient number of buds.
Fruits of the BABAKLAVA variety have a uniform shape and small seeds. The flavor of the cucumbers is natural and rich, without characteristic bitterness, making them especially attractive to consumers who prefer fresh vegetables with a true cucumber aroma. Despite some difficulties with yield, this hybrid is valued for its high fruit quality and versatility in culinary use.
