Description Achilles
The cucumber variety Achilles F1 is an early-maturing parthenocarpic hybrid with an indeterminate growth habit and female flowering type. Plants are moderately leafy and highly productive, making this variety ideal for cultivation both in greenhouses and open fields. The cucumbers have a shortened cylindrical shape, bright green color, and finely ribbed surface. Fruit weight is approximately 90-100 grams, and the flavor is highly rated, allowing the cucumbers to be used for fresh consumption as well as for pickling and salting.

The Achilles variety exhibits high resistance to diseases such as cladosporiosis and ascochytosis, significantly simplifying care and enhancing yield stability. Plants demonstrate synchronized and abundant fruiting onset, along with a prolonged harvest period, enabling fresh cucumbers to be harvested from early summer through the entire season. For maximum yield, it is recommended to train plants into a single stem, removing the lower 3-4 nodes and all lateral shoots, leaving one leaf and a cluster of cucumbers per node. This agronomic technique promotes good leaf illumination and fruiting support.

For successful cultivation of the Achilles variety, a sparse planting is required — no more than two plants per square meter, regular abundant watering, and daily harvesting. With proper care, yield can reach 40 kg per square meter per season, and each plant can produce up to 400 cucumbers. Fruits retain their market quality for up to 10 days under non-controlled conditions, making the variety convenient for storage and transport. Additionally, the hybrid demonstrates good heat tolerance and can maintain stable yields even during dry summers.
