Archimedes

The Archimedes cucumber variety is a medium-maturing, bee-pollinated type, suitable for cultivation both in open ground and in greenhouses. The plant is indeterminate, strongly branched, with mixed flowering, where predominantly 1-2 female flowers form per node. Leaves are medium-sized and green. The main vine continues to grow throughout the fruiting period, ensuring a prolonged harvest until frost. It is recommended to plant no more than two plants per square meter due to its vigorous growth and extensive bush spread.

Fruits of the Archimedes variety have a cylindrical shape with large bumps and spines, measuring 12 to 18 centimeters in length and weighing 70 to 200 grams. The fruits are dark green with whitish or medium stripes, possessing excellent flavor and good sugar content. The fruit skin is dense, contributing to a long storage life. The variety has high yield: up to 6 kilograms of cucumbers per plant and up to 16 kilograms per square meter.

The Archimedes variety is resistant to major cucumber diseases such as powdery mildew and bacterial wilt, as well as to frost, making it suitable for various climatic conditions. It is suitable for salad and canning use, expanding the application possibilities of the fruit.
