Rutabaga – an annual herbaceous plant from the borage family that grows quickly: it takes only 35‑45 days from germination to the first leaf harvest. The bush is compact, 30–50 cm high, with large, egg-shaped leaves with a pointed tip and a rich green color. Each bush weighs about 200–300 g, making it convenient for home cultivation.
Rutabaga leaves have a strong spicy aroma and are valued both fresh and dried. They are widely used in cooking: they add a rich flavor to dishes and are also used in canning to give products a characteristic aroma. Thanks to good disease resistance and excellent taste qualities, this variety is popular among gardeners and professional chefs.
Rutabaga can be grown either through seedlings or by direct sowing of seeds into the soil. For optimal growth, the plant needs regular watering. The variety adapts easily to different climatic conditions, making it suitable for growing on private plots and in greenhouses.
