Cornflower Marian

Reliable Dutch genetics for commercial performance

Enza Limited has built a reputation on precision, and their «Marian» hybrid in the cornflower category is no exception. Designed for growers who prioritize consistency and quality, this product is aimed at those supplying the culinary industry, where the aesthetic and physical properties of the crop are as important as its yield.

Superior resistance profile

The standout feature of «Marian» is its robust resistance to Fusarium wilt. For professional producers, this is a significant operational advantage. It minimizes the need for aggressive fungicide applications, supporting more sustainable farming practices while protecting the bottom line from crop losses that typically plague less resilient varieties.

Why choose Marian for culinary use?

The breeding strategy behind «Marian» focuses on meeting the demands of high-end culinary supply chains:

• Uniformity: Excellent consistency in flower head size simplifies harvesting and packaging processes.
• Market Readiness: The plants are bred to withstand transit, ensuring that they reach the kitchen or retail shelf in pristine condition.
• Professional performance: Whether cultivated in a controlled greenhouse environment or open field, the hybrid maintains its biological potential, provided the grower adheres to standard nutritional and care protocols.

«Marian» is an optimal choice for commercial entities that require predictability. It bridges the gap between high-yield requirements and the delicate nature of culinary flowers. While it requires a high level of crop management to reach its full potential, the return on investment through reduced disease pressure and high product uniformity makes it a superior choice compared to conventional, less specialized varieties.
