SU Crumber sweet corn is a simple hybrid with a crystalline-ridged kernel type and conical-cylindrical ear shape. Plants are compact, reaching over 350 cm in height, ensuring ease of cultivation and high yield. The hybrid is suitable for cultivation as grain or silage, with planting rates of 85-95 thousand seeds per hectare for grain and 95-105 thousand for silage. Average dry matter yield is 220 c/ha, maximum — 239 c/ha. Seeds have high germination, with one planting unit containing 50,000 germinable seeds. The hybrid was registered in Belarus in 2024.
SU Crumber exhibits high resistance to corn rust and other diseases, ensuring stable yields. Plants form cylindrical ears with 16-18 rows of kernels, up to 22-23 cm long and 5-6 cm in diameter. Kernels are full, glossy, and contain high sugar content up to 23%, giving them excellent taste even after cooking. Due to these characteristics, the hybrid is ideal for fresh market sales and processing, especially in regions with warm climates and organized irrigation.
The hybrid SU Crumber has a vegetation period of approximately 76-77 days, allowing its use in various agroclimatic conditions, including southern regions with drip irrigation. Compact plants facilitate maintenance and harvest. High commercial output and stable yield make this hybrid attractive for farmers focused on producing high-quality sweet corn for fresh consumption and processing.
