Maize LG 32.85

French breeding for premium silage production

The LG 3285 hybrid from Limagrain is a classic example of European breeding, specifically developed for high-quality silage production. Over years of successful deployment, this hybrid has become a trusted choice for farms prioritizing a balanced nutritional program for livestock.

Agronomic Profile and Resilience

The primary strength of LG 3285 lies in its robust phytosanitary profile. In intensive farming environments, where pathogen pressure is a constant concern, this hybrid demonstrates excellent tolerance to a range of common diseases:

• Helminthosporium leaf blight;
• Fusarium ear and stalk rot;
• Common smut.

This inherent resistance not only preserves yield potential but also ensures the nutritional integrity of the silage by preventing mycotoxin accumulation, which is vital for maintaining optimal livestock health.

Cultivation Guidelines

The flint-dent grain type provides an ideal balance of starch content and fiber digestibility. To fully unlock the genetic potential of LG 3285, the manufacturer recommends a planting density of 75,000–80,000 plants per hectare. When managed according to agronomic best practices, LG 3285 produces a vigorous vegetative mass, allowing farmers to maximize energy yield per hectare.
