Maize RADUGA

Versatility in every cob

The «Raduga» variety, developed by the breeders at RosNIISK «Rossorgo», is a unique example of multi-purpose selection. Unlike modern highly specialized hybrids aimed solely at maximum grain yield, this variety is the result of meticulous work by a team of authors, including V.I. Zhuzhukin, E.V. Morozov, and E.V. Gudkova. Its introduction into the institute's portfolio responded to market demand for a crop that combines aesthetic appeal with diverse culinary applications.

Agronomic profile and application

The main feature of «Raduga» lies in its versatile usage. The yellow-orange grain possesses characteristics suitable for various segments:

• Popcorn: the endosperm structure is optimal for popping, making the variety popular among farmers focused on niche snack production.
• Sweet corn: the variety is suitable for fresh consumption, featuring a balanced flavor and aromatic profile.
• Decorative use: the vibrant palette of the cobs makes «Raduga» sought after in landscape design and farm exhibition displays.

The variety's reputation is built on the stability provided by the scientific foundation of the FSBSI «RosNIISK «Rossorgo». As a variety, it demonstrates predictability in field conditions, which is particularly valuable for farms that prefer to avoid the high risks associated with intensive imported hybrids. This is the choice for those seeking a balance between classical agronomy and market demand from end-consumers in local markets.
